Lips Choir is a trans-inclusive women’s choir based in London, founded in 2009. The choir is known for its dynamic performances and empowering renditions of pop, soul, and disco songs. It started with a small group of women who loved to sing and has grown to around 100 members. Lips Choir is led by musical directors Jessie Maryon Davies and Kat Stark, and they perform with an all-female live band​ (YouTube)​​ (LIPS)​.

The choir is celebrated for creating an inclusive and supportive space for people who identify as female, trans, and gender non-conforming. Their performances aim to turn pop music into an empowering and inclusive activity, and they have been featured in notable events and collaborations, including performances at Bestival, collaborations with Alison Goldfrapp, and appearances on shows like “Children In Need”​ (LIPS)​​ (The Quietus)​.

Lips Choir has also been recognized for their poignant and heartwarming covers, such as their lockdown video of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own,” which gained significant attention and praise​ (LOUD WOMEN)​. They continue to perform at various venues and events, celebrating musical resistance and community through their powerful collective voice.
